Presently, the Trust distributes donations by advertising grants and inviting applications (link to grant application) against a written pro-forma from current Citizen Advocacy programs and other parties who are attempting to commence such programs.
Applications are received in two parts; Part A with all identifying information, and Part B, the application without any identifying details. Both parts are sent to an independent party who codes each section, separates Parts A & B and forwards Part B section to the Grants Committee for assessment and selection without knowing the identity of the applicant and therefore purely on the basis of the merits of the application.
Once selections are made, only then will the Committee learn the identity of the applicant and make direct contact with them. Applicants are notified, agreements signed including agreements to report on the project and acquit funds within a reasonable period of time.
Donors are assured that funds given to CA Trust will be disbursed in an objective and comprehensive fashion to deserving Citizen Advocacy projects so as to achieve the greatest benefit from the available resources.
