Citizen Advocacy Programs

Governments have funded Citizen Advocacy programs for many decades. But Citizen Advocacy programs are frequently required to do more with less. Some have been required to undertake paid advocacy activities across an enlarged region while trying to maintain their Citizen Advocacy matching efforts. They have to do this without additional funding and staff and sometimes on a reduced budget.

Such a mix of advocacy models forces existing staff into direct advocacy roles undermining the intended work of making many good matches. The immediate drives out the long-term.

Citizen Advocacy Programs could make more life changing matches with more resources.

Contact a Citizen Advocacy Program if you are interested in contributing to the financial sustainability of Citizen Advocacy.

You can also contact the Citizen Advocacy Program nearest to you if you are interested in learning more and perhaps getting involved with an existing Program.
