The Citizen Advocacy Trust of Australia provides funds to local Citizen Advocacy programs so that those who are vulnerable are protected and their well-being enhanced and monitored.
Citizen Advocates are recruited and trained to offer advocacy, support and friendship to people with disability who would otherwise be friendless and at risk.
For many people, this relationship is the only un-paid relationship in their life and constitutes the greatest protection to their well-being.
The viability of CATA depends on financial contributions made to it by generous donors. CATA operates with virtually no overhead costs. There is an unpaid board of directors that makes decisions as to the distribution of funds.
